Are you a caring and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in Barnet?
We're seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a lovely Year 2 pupil with brittle bones disease. The role involves providing 1:1 support throughout the school day, ensuring the child's safety, comfort, and access to learning.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting safe movement around the classroom and school
Assisting with personal care and physical needs, as required
Using hoist equipment where necessary (if trained)
Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning activities
Promoting independence and confidence for the pupil
Maintaining clear communication with parents and staff regarding progress and wellbeing
Requirements
To be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you should have:
Experience working in a primary school or SEN setting
Either manual handling training or hoist training (essential)
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Excellent communication skills
An understanding of safeguarding and health & safety procedures
