Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a thriving mainstream secondary school to appoint a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant for a Year 9 female pupil with autism and learning disabilities, based in the school's on-site SEN unit. September 2025 - July 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consistent 1:1 support, both in lessons and during social times.
Support communication, sensory regulation, and emotional wellbeing.
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff.
Adapt lesson materials and learning approaches to meet the pupil's needs.
Promote independence while providing emotional and academic support.
Essential Requirements:
A degree in Education or a closely related field (this is mandatory).
Experience working with pupils with autism and/or learning disabilities is highly desirable.
Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding young people.
