SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Autism/ASD) – Tower Hamlets
Full-time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am–3:30pm | September Start | Long-Term
We are currently working in partnership with a highly supportive secondary school in Tower Hamlets that caters specifically to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), with a strong focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This forward-thinking school is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in a full-time, long-term position from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with SEN, particularly those with Autism, and are looking to build a career within a secondary school setting. Key Requirements:

Experience supporting young people with SEN, particularly Autism/ASD
*
Ability to work Monday to Friday during term time, 8:30am to 3:30pm
*
Calm, patient and proactive approach to behaviour management and support
*
Genuine interest in making a difference in a secondary school SEN environment
*
Comfortable working 1:1 and in small groups, supporting a range of needs
Daily Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
*
Provide in-class support to students with Autism and complex learning needs
*
Work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored SEN strategies and resources
*
Support students’ emotional regulation and social development
*
Use visual aids, sensory tools, and structured routines to assist learning
*
Help implement individualised learning plans under the guidance of the SENCO
*
Track and report on pupil progress to inform next steps
*
Assist in managing classroom behaviour and transitions throughout the day
*
Take part in ongoing professional development and staff training sessions related to SEN and Autism
