We are seeking a vibrant and kind-hearted Teaching Assistant to join the team at Portfield School. You would work either within our primary or secondary phase supporting our students between 4-16 years old. We have Full Time and Part Time positions available.
Our Teaching Assistants are vital in ensuring each student reaches their full potential. Each TA does this by developing a positive working relationships with our students understanding their likes, dislikes and interests so that all lessons are personalised.
The role
Working at Portfield School is unbelievably rewarding and we guarantee that no two days will be the same, one minute you could be swimming, the next you’re playing sports outdoors, to celebrating a breakthrough with a tricky maths equation, or even witnessing a students first conversation! There really is no better feeling being a part of these milestones to a students journey!
This role does come with some challenges, which may be both physically and emotionally demanding at times, however, you will never be alone! Ongoing support will always be available from your team members, line manager, Leadership team, mental Health First aiders or our Employee Assistance programme, plus you will have our 12 week training programme. To help set you up for success.
Hours of work
Monday - 08:30am - 4pm
Tuesday - 08:30am - 4:30pm
Wednesday - 08:30am - 4pm
Thursday - 08:30am - 4pm
Friday - 08:30am - 3:30pm

To be successful as a Teaching Assistant, we are looking for someone who:
* Can easily adapt themselves in different situations
* Has a fun and supportive nature
* Doesn’t hesitate to play and get messy
* Displays a calm approach, even when under pressure
* Will support with personal care such as nappies and toilet training
* Can participate in any exercise and activities required
* Will use their initiative where needed
