GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to work alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff to help students overcome barriers to learning and thrive in a tailored environment in Poole.
In this SEN TA role, you will support students with a range of complex learning difficulties on a one-to-one and small group basis. You will help to deliver personalised learning, promote independence, and assist with therapeutic activities where appropriate. SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
Support students with a variety of additional learning needs in a classroom setting.
Assist in the delivery of personalised learning programmes and behaviour plans.
Provide tailored one-to-one or small group interventions.
Promote student independence and emotional wellbeing.
Help with personal care tasks where necessary, always maintaining dignity and respect.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure consistent progress.
SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Requirements:
Previous experience supporting students with SEN in an educational or care setting.
CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, Teaching Assistance, or Health & Social Care is desirable.
A patient, caring, and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting vulnerable learners.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
To thrive in a SEN Teaching Assistant role, you should:
Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
