Are you an SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs to reach their full potential?
An inclusive and nurturing SEN school in Bexley is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. We cater for pupils aged 4–19 with a range of complex needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLCN, and medical or physical difficulties.
Your Role Will Involve – SEN Teaching Assistant
* Supporting pupils with additional needs in the classroom, on a 1:1 or small group basis
* Assisting the class teacher in delivering personalised learning and behaviour strategies
* Helping pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and engagement
* Supporting pupils with personal care needs (if required)
* Using tools such as PECS, Makaton, visual schedules, and sensory resources
* Working closely with therapists, teachers, and pastoral staff to provide a consistent and caring environment
We’re Looking For Someone Who – SEN Teaching Assistant
* Has previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN)
* Is caring, reliable, and proactive with excellent communication skills
* Understands the challenges and rewards of working in an SEN setting
* Can stay calm under pressure and use de-escalation techniques when needed
* Is enthusiastic about helping pupils thrive in all areas of their development
* Ideally has knowledge of or training in ASD, communication systems, or sensory processing
