SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support - Primary Schools - Sheffield
Location: Sheffield
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for primary-aged pupils across a range of schools in Sheffield.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will work closely with individual students with a range of additional needs including:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Challenging Behaviour
Non-verbal communication difficulties
You will play a vital role in helping children access learning in a supportive and inclusive environment, working alongside class teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to tailor your support to meet each child's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support tailored to the needs of each child
Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning tasks
Use alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, visual timetables)
Foster positive relationships and encourage social and emotional development
Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism and behavioural needs
Patience, empathy, and resilience
A proactive and flexible approach
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) - desirable but not essential
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
