SEN Teaching Assistant - East London (Permanent)
Career Teachers is currently recruiting for a kind-hearted and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in East London. This is a full-time role starting in September 2025, working with students with a range of special educational needs across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Areas of focus may include:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Sensory and/or Physical Needs
Specification
Strong understanding of supporting pupils with additional needs
Experience supporting young people with SEN (desirable)
Training in PECS, Makaton, manual handling or hoisting (advantageous but not essential)
Adaptable, motivated, and able to take initiative
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
Must be UK-based and eligible to work in the UKYou will work closely with the class teacher and therapy teams to support students' learning and development, contributing to a nurturing and inclusive environment.
