Job Description

Our client school is a dedicated and inclusive school that supports children with special educational needs, including autism, high sensory needs, and behaviors that challenge. They provide a nurturing and structured learning environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential. Job Description: We are seeking a patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to support students with autism, PMLD and high sensory needs. The ideal candidates will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver tailored support, helping children engage with learning and develop essential life skills. Working as a team and support on a 1:1 basis where required. Key Responsibilities: * Support children with autism and high sensory needs in the classroom and one-on-one settings. * Assist in implementing Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior support strategies. * Adapt learning materials and activities to suit each child's needs. * Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors using appropriate strategies. * Encourage social interaction and communication skills development. * Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to provide consistent support. * Provide sensory-based activities to help students regulate their emotions and responses. * Support students with personal care and daily routines if required is essential. Requirements: * Previous experience working with children with autism, sensory needs, or challenging behaviors is desirable. * Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and sensory processing challenges. * Strong communication and teamwork skills. * Be prepared to assist in Personal care is essential * Ability to remain calm, patient, and proactive in challenging situations. * Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are advantageous. * A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
