SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Brighton Salary: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on experience) Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and making a meaningful difference in their learning journey? GSL Education invites dedicated and compassionate individuals to apply for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant in a welcoming and inclusive school in Brighton, starting in September 2025. As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a key role in assisting students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional challenges. You will be working closely with class teachers and SENCOs to ensure students are given the best possible support to access the curriculum and thrive academically and personally. Responsibilities of a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant: Provide targeted support to students in 1:1 and small group settings. Support students in accessing learning according to their EHCPs or individual needs. Help implement strategies to support emotional regulation, communication, and behaviour. Collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to monitor progress and adapt support as needed. Encourage student independence and confidence within the classroom environment. Assist in preparing learning materials tailored to the needs of SEN learners. SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements: CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, Teaching Assistant, or a related field (desirable but not essential). A degree in Education, SEN, Psychology or a similar field. Experience working with children with SEN in a school or care setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach. Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one) Why Join GSL Education?
