Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs? We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support one of our partner schools within the North Somerset area.
If you do not have experience as a teaching assistant, but have transferrable skills, you are still invited to apply. Previously, those with backgrounds in care, youth work, sports coaching, child psychology and counselling have had great success in this environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs.
Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored interventions both in and out of the classroom.
Promote and support the emotional wellbeing and social development of students.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, the SENCo, and other professionals to ensure that every student can thrive.
Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
Monitor and report on student progress, ensuring individual needs are met effectively.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working with young people, particularly those with SEN (desirable but not essential).
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting young learners.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A genuine interest in supporting students’ academic and emotional development.
The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
