Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including complex learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and communication challenges.
Assist with personal care and mobility needs as required.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to implement EHCPs and personalised learning strategies.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel safe and encouraged to learn.
Help promote independence, confidence, and life skills in pupils.
Support with sensory and behaviour regulation using appropriate strategies.
Requirements:
Must have clearly demonstrated SEN experience listed on CV.
Confident in providing personal care and physical support to pupils.
Compassionate, patient, and adaptable with a strong commitment to inclusion.
Team player with good communication skills.
Driving is not essential but beneficial.
Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
