SEN Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School - Greenwich (Near Woolwich Station)

Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Pay: £85-£100 per day (depending on experience)

The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a child in either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 (depending on your experience), who has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The student has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and communication needs, requiring structured support to engage with learning and daily school routines.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 support throughout the school day
Implementing strategies outlined in the student's EHCP
Supporting the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development
Liaising with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
Helping the pupil access classroom activities and stay on task
Assisting with visual schedules, sensory breaks, and speech activities
What We're Looking for in a SEN Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children with SEN (especially ASD or communication needs)
A calm, positive, and patient approach
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
A passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners
Relevant experience in schools or with children (essential); SEN training/qualifications (desirable)
