Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant for a Secondary SEN Unit in East Ham. This specialist provision supports students with autism, communication difficulties, and challenging behaviour - including both verbal and non-verbal learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and group support to students with ASD
Assist in managing behaviour and supporting communication using PECS or visual aids
Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement EHCPs and support plans
Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Ideal Candidate:
Experience supporting children with ASD and SEMH
Confident managing behaviour and working with non-verbal pupils
Patient, empathetic, and consistent in approach
Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
