SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School – September Start
📍 North West | 🕒 Full-time | 📅 Start: September 2025
Are you a compassionate and resilient individual with a passion for supporting young people with special educational needs (SEN)?
Whether you’re an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, a graduate in Psychology or Education, or someone with care/support experience—you could thrive in this rewarding school-based role.
This successful and supportive secondary SEN school is looking for multiple SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2025. You'll work closely with students who have additional learning needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and challenging behaviour, helping them to thrive both academically and socially.
🎯 SEN Teaching Assistant – Role Overview
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will include:
Supporting students with SEN on a 1:1, small group, or classroom basis
Working with students across Key Stages 3 and 4
Building trust and strong working relationships with pupils
Assisting in the delivery of personalised learning and behaviour strategies
Collaborating with teaching staff and SEN specialists
Adapting to different classroom environments as needed
✅ What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this SEN role, you should have:
A Teaching Assistant qualification, SEND certificate, or a degree in Psychology, Education, or related fields
Experience working with children or young people in education, care, or SEN settings
Previous experience supporting students with SEND, ASC, or challenging behaviour is desirable
A calm, empathetic, and patient approach
Excellent communication skills and team spirit
The ability to work independently and take initiative in the classroom
