Salary: £83.33 - £88.94+ per day (depending on experience)
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new role? We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist school in Ashford.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the teaching team to provide personalised support for children and young people aged 3 to 19 with a wide range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum conditions, severe and profound learning difficulties, and associated medical needs.
Key Requirements for the Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
The successful candidate will have:
Proven experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN).
A full driving licence, as the school is not easily accessible via public transport.
A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach to supporting children with complex needs.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with staff, pupils, and parents.
A genuine passion for helping pupils with additional needs to thrive.
Key responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant include:
Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups, following EHCPs and learning plans
Assisting with communication, behaviour regulation, sensory needs, and personal care
Promoting independence, life skills, and positive well-being
Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
