Veritas Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary/secondary school in Islington. This is a full-time role starting immediately, ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) on both a 1:1 basis and within small groups.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language needs
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support
Providing 1:1 support to students to help them access the curriculum and reach their full potential
Leading or assisting in small group interventions
Monitoring progress and reporting to relevant staff
Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environmentRequirements:
Experience working with children with SEN (in a school or similar setting)
Confident supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A proactive, flexible, and patient approach
A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)Desirable:
Experience with Makaton, PECs, or other SEN-specific strategies
Relevant TA or SEN qualifications
Experience working in London schools
