Do you have experience supporting children with Autism, non-verbal communication needs, or Social, Emotional and Mental Health challenges? A warm and inclusive primary school in Aston is seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team within a specialist provision.
This is a rewarding and hands-on role, working closely with pupils who need tailored support to access learning and build confidence. The provision supports children across EYFS to KS2 with a range of complex needs, and the school is looking for someone that is consistent and proactive to work on a long-term basis, for the right candidate there is potential for this role to be made permanent.
Your Role:
Provide consistent 1:1 or small group support to pupils with ASD, non-verbal needs and SEMH
Use visual aids, PECS or Makaton (if trained) to aid communication
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to deliver personalised interventions
Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environmentWhat We're Looking For:
