The Opportunity:
We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with SEMH needs. This is a pivotal role where you will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver bespoke interventions that foster emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, and academic engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and additional needs
Implement and adapt personalised learning, behaviour, and emotional support strategies
Foster a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Encourage positive behavioural choices, resilience, and emotional growth
Liaise with staff, parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a consistent support network
Track student progress, identify areas for development, and contribute to review meetings
Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience supporting young people with SEMH or complex behavioural needs (essential)
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, TA Certification, or Psychology/SEN-related degree)
Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to build meaningful relationships
Patient, empathetic, and able to remain calm under pressure
Confident team player with excellent communication skills
Flexible, reflective, and willing to continually develop your practice
