Job Description
A small, nurturing SEN school in Barking and Dagenham is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism. The pupils are in Years 7 and 9 but follow a primary curriculum, with a strong emphasis on creative learning through arts and crafts.
The Role:
Support teachers in delivering core subjects, adapted to primary-level learning.
Lead and assist with engaging activities in arts, crafts and other creative areas to develop pupils' confidence and skills.
Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and social development.
Help create a calm, supportive environment where every child can thrive.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with autism or complex needs is desirable.
A creative, hands-on approach to supporting learning.
Patience, empathy and a passion for SEN education.
A positive team player who can build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
