SEN Teaching Assistant – PMLD
Location: Northwood, North West London
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Uniform Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Northwood. The school provides a safe, structured, and personalised environment for pupils with complex learning needs, sensory processing difficulties, and communication challenges.
About the Role:
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils with PMLD on a 1:1 or small-group basis in the classroom and during activities
*
Deliver sensory-based learning, communication strategies, and structured routines
*
Use systems such as PECS, Makaton, and visual supports to aid understanding
*
Encourage independence, social interaction, and confidence through positive reinforcement
*
Assist with personal care, mobility, and medical needs where required
*
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to support pupils’ EHCP targets
What We’re Looking For:

Experience supporting children or young people with PMLD, SLD, or complex needs
*
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
*
Confidence using sensory, communication, and structured strategies
*
Willingness to support with personal care and physical needs
*
Strong communication and teamwork skills
*
