Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive two-form entry primary school near Romford, set in beautiful rural surroundings with spacious grounds. The school is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs on a full-time basis for the academic year.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a supportive team, making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs. The school prides itself on its nurturing environment and strong community ethos.
If you have experience supporting children with special needs - particularly Autism (ASD), including non-verbal communication, ADHD, or SEMH - this could be the ideal role for you. Training in PECS is desirable but not essential.
Job Summary
Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Romford - Accessible by car (on-site car park) and local bus routes
Pay: £90 per day minimum (PAYE)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Full academic year
Working Hours: Full-time, term time onlyRequirements for an SEN Teaching Assistant
Must have experience supporting children with:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), particularly non-verbal children
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Desirable: Experience or training in PECS
Patience, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Ability to work well within a team and follow direction from class teachers and the SENCO
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
Full CV covering employment history with any gaps explained

Two professional references covering the last two years
