SEN Teaching Assistants - Secondary School (Bridgwater)

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs? Prospero Teaching is looking for enthusiastic and caring SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming secondary school in Bridgwater. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives, working on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and as a general classroom assistant.
Role Details:
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Bridgwater, Somerset
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Ongoing (potential for permanent roles)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experienceKey Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for pupils with a range of SEN, including SEMH needs
Assist small groups of students with their learning and development
Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
Help create a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment
Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals to meet students' individual needsThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or care setting
A genuine interest in supporting students with SEN, including SEMH
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, Level 2/3 TA, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
