About the role of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with moderate autism, tailoring your approach to meet his emotional and academic needs
*
Be responsive to changes in mood and behaviour, which may be influenced by events at home or over the weekend
*
Encourage social interaction and build confidence through structured activities and positive reinforcement
*
Support learning across core subjects in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum, adapting resources and instructions when needed
Requirements for a SEN Teaching Assistant:

✅ Experience working in a Primary or 1:1 support setting, ideally with children with Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs
*
✅ Confident in managing emotional dysregulation and responding calmly to unpredictable behaviours
*
✅ Able to build a trusting, supportive relationship with one child while maintaining professional boundaries
*
✅ A team player who is proactive, takes initiative, and contributes positively to the wider school environment
