Job Type: Temporary to permanent
Duration: Permanent
Location: Runcorn
Salary: £90 - £110 per day
Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 8:30am – 3:45pm
Start date: Monday 6th October 2025
Core Education is currently working with a lovely primary school based in the Runcorn area who have requirements for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil who has Complex learning needs, including Autism and ADHD, to provide 1:1 support to the child.
SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
Create an inclusive learning environment
Experience working with children with ADHD and Autism
Facilitate communication between students, teachers and parents
Motivate and engage students
Provide 1:1 support to a year 2 student with Autism
Support the teacher to plan innovative and engaging lessons which will meet the needs of the child
Work with the childs EHCP plans supporting their learning
Promote learning and personal development of the student, adapting learning activities to meet their needs
SEN Teaching Assistant Experience:
Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum
Experience working with students with additional needs such as, ASD, Complex needs and ADHD
Be able to demonstrate recent classroom experience and strong behaviour management skills
Be committed to supporting the children where necessary
Have previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or relevant experience of working with children
Working within a SEN school or Primary school setting and be confident in using their initiative
Qualification within Education is desirable
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will need an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
