Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Greenwich that has a specialist high-needs SEN unit. This role will involve supporting students with varying complex needs both in the mainstream classroom and within the unit, ensuring they can fully engage with their learning and social development. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to children with complex needs, either 1:1 or in small groups, in both the mainstream and specialist settings. Work alongside class teachers and SEND staff to adapt lessons and resources to meet individual needs. Assist with daily routines, sensory activities, and interventions designed to support the development of children with ASD. Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students. Ideal Candidate: Experience supporting children with high-needs SEN, preferably in a primary school or specialist setting. Knowledge of autism-friendly strategies, sensory needs, and behaviour management approaches. A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
