SEN Teaching Assistant - Doncaster
Academics are looking to appoint a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a temporary, full-time role in a supportive mainstream primary school in Doncaster.
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Contract: Full-time, temporary (ongoing)
School: Mainstream primary school in Doncaster
Pay: £88.94 - £95 per day (dependent upon experience, training, qualifications & client rate available, inclusive of holiday pay)
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work within a mainstream classroom, supporting children with a variety of special educational needs. You will provide one-to-one and small group interventions, helping pupils access the curriculum and thrive alongside their peers. This role is ideal for a candidate with experience of SEN who is passionate about inclusion and making a positive impact in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and group support for children with SEN within a mainstream class.
Implement strategies to support children with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
Assist teachers with lesson delivery, adapting resources where required.
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
Safeguard pupils and follow school policies at all times.
Candidate Requirements
✔ Experience supporting pupils with SEN (essential).
✔ Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
✔ Strong communication and organisational skills.
✔ A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
✔ Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
