SEN Teaching Assistant - Chesterfield
Academics are recruiting a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Chesterfield. This is a temporary, full-time position with an immediate start.

Contract: Full-time, temporary (ongoing)
School: Inclusive mainstream primary school in Chesterfield
Pay: £88.94 - £95 per day (dependent upon experience, training, qualifications & client rate available, inclusive of holiday pay)
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a mainstream classroom setting, supporting children with a range of additional needs. You will deliver targeted interventions, provide 1:1 support, and help pupils access their learning in a positive and inclusive environment. The school in Chesterfield is looking for someone who is proactive, patient, and passionate about making a difference.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with SEN in both 1:1 and group situations.
Work alongside the class teacher to adapt lessons and resources to meet individual needs.
Provide specialist support for children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other learning difficulties.
Encourage positive behaviour and promote emotional wellbeing.
Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and school staff.
Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
Candidate Requirements
✔ Previous experience of working with children with SEN (essential).
✔ Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
✔ Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
✔ A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach.
✔ Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
