About the Role – SEN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: Immediate
Location: Cheshire
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (with potential for permanent placement)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other additional learning needs. You’ll provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students achieve their full academic and social potential in a safe, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with SEN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
Implement strategies outlined in students’ EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)
Support the emotional, social, and academic development of students
Carry out personal care duties when required
Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals
Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements:
Relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Psychology degree, or equivalent)
Experience supporting individuals with SEN (in education, care, or voluntary settings)
Calm, patient, and compassionate approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
