Job Title: Additional Learning Support Tutor Location: Southwark, London Salary: £90-120 per day Hours of Work: 5 days per week; Term-Time Only Closing Date for Applications: 17th November 2025 Start Date: ASAP - January Job Purpose This role is designed to support primary-aged learners with additional educational needs and to promote independence and inclusion within the classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals to ensure pupils receive the tailored support they need to thrive both academically and socially. Key Responsibilities * Support pupils with a range of additional needs (including communication, social, emotional, and learning difficulties) * Provide targeted support in literacy, numeracy, and other key curriculum areas * Assist pupils in accessing the learning environment and maintaining engagement in lessons * Collaborate with SENCOs, class teachers, and support staff to plan and deliver effective interventions * Monitor and record pupil progress against individual targets and EHCP outcomes * Maintain accurate records of support provided * Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in line with school policies * Raise any safeguarding concerns promptly in accordance with statutory guidance * Support the delivery of extra-curricular and life skills activities that enhance pupil development Essential Criteria * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Strong understanding of child development and inclusive practice * Competent IT skills for maintaining records and communication * English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or above * Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff * Clear Enhanced DBS check Desirable Criteria * Knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly within a primary setting * Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or other additional needs * Subject-specific skills or interests (e.g., creative arts, PE, or sensory play) * Previous experience working in a primary or SEN school How to Apply To apply, please submit your CV and a covering letter outlining your suitability and interest in the role.
