Uniform Education is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Northwood. The school supports pupils with a variety of needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis
*
Help deliver tailored lessons and sensory-based activities under the direction of the class teacher
*
Use strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or visual supports to aid communication
*
Encourage independence, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing
*
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to achieve EHCP targets
*
Provide assistance with personal care or mobility when required (training provided)
*
Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
*
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (essential)
*
Knowledge of Autism, SLD, or SEMH (desirable)
*
Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting pupils
*
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
*
Willingness to assist with personal care and/or manual handling (training can be provided)
*
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)
