Job Description

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (KS1) Location: Preston Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:30pm Are you passionate about making a difference in children’s education? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Preston, supporting children within Key Stage 1 who require additional support. Several children you will be working with have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in place, and you will play a vital role in helping them access the curriculum and thrive in school. The Role: Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with additional needs. Assist with classroom activities, ensuring all pupils can engage and progress. Implement strategies in line with children’s EHCPs and liaise with the class teacher and SENCO. Encourage independence, positive behaviour, and emotional wellbeing. Support with both academic and social development. Requirements: Previous experience supporting children or adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in either an education or care setting. Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach. Ability to adapt support to meet individual needs. A commitment to promoting inclusion and learning for all children. This is a long-term, full-time position, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact within a supportive school environment.
