About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team, supporting a Year 7 student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who is on the higher-functioning end of the spectrum. The successful candidate will work one-to-one to help the student with self-regulation, confidence building, and managing low self-esteem, ensuring they are able to access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide tailored one-to-one support throughout the school day
• Assist the student with social and emotional regulation
• Liaise with SENCO and class teachers to support personalised learning plans
• Encourage confidence, resilience and independent learning
Candidate Requirements
• Experience supporting children or young people with ASD (secondary school experience preferred)
• Empathetic, patient, and calm under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting individual student needs
