SEN Teaching Assistant (Specialism in Challenging Behaviours) Contract Type: Part Time, Temporary Start Date: 01/09/2025 Location: Harrow Salary: £85–£100 Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Term Time Only) About the Role Are you passionate about supporting children with additional behavioural needs? Teach Now is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN teaching assistant with a specialism in managing challenging behaviours to join a nurturing and inclusive primary school in Harrow this September. Children are at the heart of every decision made, and staff are empowered to implement creative approaches to behaviour and learning support. Key Responsibilities • Support students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and other behavioural challenges across KS1 and KS2 • Implement strategies to help pupils regulate emotions and remain engaged in learning • Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and pastoral staff to ensure continuity and consistency in behavioural support • Contribute to creating a safe, calm, and stimulating environment • Build trusting relationships with pupils and their families Ideal Candidate • Experience working with children with SEMH or challenging behaviours • Strong behaviour management techniques and a calm, empathetic approach • Ability to remain composed and adaptable under pressure • A genuine passion for inclusive education • Relevant training or qualifications (Team Teach, MAPA, etc.) are advantageous What We Offer • A fulfilling part-time role with a focus on impactful SEN support • Access to continued professional development • Ongoing guidance and support from the Teach Now team • Opportunity to work in a supportive, progressive school environment Why Work via Teach Now?
