SEN Teaching Assistant / Support Worker – High Complex Needs School
Location: Tottenham, London
Contract: Full-time, Monday–Friday (term-time)
Start Date: Immediate or ASAP
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Milk Education is working on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Tottenham to recruit experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants and Support Workers. The school supports both primary and secondary pupils with a range of high and complex needs, including physical disabilities, communication difficulties and behavioural needs. We are looking for staff who are committed to helping young people access learning in a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
About the role:
Supporting pupils with complex learning needs, including Autism, ADHD, PMLD, SEMH and communication difficulties
Working with pupils who use wheelchairs or require mobility assistance
Manual handling, personal care, and feeding support where required
Providing 1:1 and small-group support in class and around the school
Helping pupils engage with sensory, differentiated and therapeutic activities
Encouraging emotional regulation, independence and positive behaviour
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside teachers and therapists
Contributing to a safe, encouraging, and inclusive school environment
Requirements:
Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, residential, community or care settings)
Confident with manual handling, personal care and feeding support
Experience working with pupils with physical or complex medical needs is highly desirable
Calm, patient and professional approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
