SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time | Long-Term | September Start
Location: Wiltshire (near Rowde)

Daily Rate: Competitive, based on experience
A unique and inclusive special needs school in rural Wiltshire is looking for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join its nurturing, student-focused team this September. Set within the grounds of a beautiful historic manor, the school recently expanded with a modern, purpose-built facility to better serve its diverse student community. With a strong commitment to holistic, person-centred education, the school offers therapeutic interventions such as animal-assisted learning and outdoor horticultural activities—providing a truly enriching environment for both pupils and staff.
What You’ll Do:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a wide range of complex needs, including PMLD and severe autism
*
Help implement tailored education and care plans in line with EHCPs
*
Promote engagement and independence through structured, accessible activities
*
Assist with personal care routines in a respectful, dignity-led manner
*
Support inclusive classroom and outdoor learning experiences
*
Maintain a safe, positive environment throughout the school day
*
Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and the wider staff team
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
*
Experience working with children or young people with SEN, especially PMLD or severe autism
*
A compassionate, calm, and patient approach
*
Confidence supporting personal care and mobility needs
*
Willingness to engage actively with therapeutic and outdoor activities
Desirable:
*
Previous work in a special school setting
*
Familiarity with communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton)
