SEN Tutor Oldham
Location: Oldham
Pay Rate: from £25 per hour
Job Type: Temporary | Part-Time | Flexible Hours choose from morning, afternoon, or evening sessions
At Prospero Teaching, we work in partnership with local councils to provide targeted one-to-one tuition for vulnerable children and young people who require additional academic support outside of mainstream education.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition in Functional Skills, Maths, and/or English, adapted to the individual needs of each student
Support learners with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, global developmental delay, and communication difficulties
Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or identified learning targets
Use a consistent and supportive approach to build trust, promote engagement, and reintroduce structure into the learners routine
Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and professionals to ensure consistent support and progress
Requirements
Minimum of 1 years experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational or therapeutic setting
Experience teaching or supporting Functional Skills and/or core subjects (Maths or English)
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
Desirable
SEN qualifications, ABA training, or experience with Autism and social communication strategies
PGCE or QTS
Previous experience working in alternative provision or education outside the mainstream classroom
