We are seeking experienced, passionate SEN Tutors for roles in Central Bedfordshire, focused on making a significant impact on student's lives, particularly those with SEN needs.
While a formal teaching qualification isn't required, demonstrable tutoring experience is essential. You will provide high-quality, tailored tuition aligned with the UK national curriculum in Maths, English, and/or Science to students aged 4-16.
This role focuses on building student's academic confidence, social skills, and overall success, supporting disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners through creative and holistic methods.
The Role
Working Hours: 30 hours per week, typically scheduled 9am - 4pm, Monday to Friday.
Location: Central Bedfordshire
Hourly Rate: £25 - £29 per hour
Sessions will be at students home where a parent/guardian will be present.
This role offers the opportunity to form long-term, meaningful relationships with students and provide consistent support and encouragement throughout their academic journey.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver targeted tuition sessions in Maths, English and/or Science, and potentially other subjects, following the UK national curriculum.
Provide individualised support focusing on both core academic subjects and social development.
Develop and implement bespoke lesson plans that cater to each student's unique learning needs.
Foster a positive, encouraging, and supportive learning environment to build students confidence and self-esteem.
Crucially, work with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and SEMH needs, adjusting approaches to ensure inclusivity and accessibility in learning.
Maintain open communication with students and their families regarding progress and areas for further development.
Requirements
Proven and demonstrable experience in delivering tuition in Maths, English, and/or Science is essential.
Significant experience working with students with SEN needs.
Strong understanding of the current UK national curriculum.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine ability to build strong, positive relationships with students.
A DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one before employment commences.
