Job Description
Prospero Teaching are looking for a compassionate and experienced SEN Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 9 student with some gaps in their learning. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and be able to adapt their teaching to meet the student's individual needs. This opportunity is for 15 hours per week. It will involve providing the young person with 3 hour sessions each day (Monday to Friday). Timings can be flexible.
As a Tutor, you will:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of students.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
Record student progress and report on this weekly.
Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
Record attendance.
Be organised, dependable and creative.About you:
Nurturing and caring nature
Patient, kind and understanding
Strong understanding of the National Curriculum
Organised
Comfortable to support secondary aged pupils with English, Maths and possibly Science too.
Have experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs.Position - Tutor

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)Before You Apply
