Job Description
SEN Tutor - 1:1 Support Outside of School
Location: Lancaster
Part-time / Flexible hours
Start Date: Ongoing
Competitive hourly rate - depending on experience
Are you a patient, adaptable and passionate educator with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs?
We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 and/or small group tuition outside of a mainstream school setting.
About the Role:
Delivering tailored learning sessions to children with a range of SEN (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and MLD)
Working in alternative settings such as the child's home, local library, or community centre
Supporting pupils who may be out of school due to medical needs, anxiety, school refusal or awaiting a suitable placement
Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in core subjects (English, Maths, etc.)
Monitoring progress and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual EHCP goalsThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or significant experience in SEN education/tutoring
Experience working 1:1 or in small groups with children with additional needs
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, nurturing approach
Ability to work independently and liaise with families, external agencies or local authorities
Flexibility to travel locally and work in various settings
A valid enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain one)We Offer:
