Outreach Tutor (SEN - Complex Needs)
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Tutor with experience supporting students with complex needs in Havering. This role involves delivering bespoke 1:1 education packages to young people who are not currently attending school.
We are particularly interested in tutors who are ABA trained and Team Teach certified, and who have a strong background in working with pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
As an Outreach Tutor, you will be expected to plan and deliver tailored lessons that re-engage learners, close learning gaps, and build confidence. Many of the pupils have experienced disrupted education and may present challenging behaviour, so experience with de-escalation and structured behaviour strategies is essential.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced educator who wants to move away from a traditional classroom setting and deliver high-impact, individualised support to those who need it most.
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
Location - Various locations across Havering
Position - Outreach Tutor (SEN - Complex Needs)
Type of work - 1:1 Tuition (Outreach)
Start date - ASAP
Duration / Likely Duration - Dependent on each pupil's needs
End date (if applicable) - N/A
Contract type - Temporary
Full time/part time - Part-time (10 to 15 hours per week)
Minimum rate of pay - From £25 per hour
Hours - Sessions range from 1 to 3 hours, based on pupil availabilityEXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience supporting children with complex SEN needs
ABA training and Team Teach certification (essential)
QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or relevant teaching qualification (preferred)
Minimum of 6 months' experience in a UK school or alternative provisionTO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one
Provide two professional references covering the last two years, ideally including child-related rolesOTHER
