Job Description
Prospero Teaching is seeking patient, nurturing, and engaging Tutors to support young learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Botley and nearby areas. These students are currently disengaged from mainstream education and require tailored support to reengage with learning and develop socially and emotionally.
Key Details
📍 Location: Botley and surrounding areas
⏰ Hours: 8-15 hours per week per student
💷 Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
🎯 Students: KS2-KS4, often with EHCPs or SEMH needsAs an SEN Tutor, you will work 1:1 with learners to:
Support core subject catch-up (English, Maths, Science)
Encourage social development and emotional regulation
Build positive relationships that foster trust and motivationAbout you:
Experienced in working within UK schools and with learners with SEN
Passionate about inclusive education and personalised learning
Skilled in behaviour management and trauma-informed approaches
Reliable, empathetic, and committed to long-term impact
Background as a Tutor, Mentor, Teaching Assistant, 1:1 Support, Cover Supervisor, Teacher, HLTA or other related careerPosition - SEN Tutor
Contract or position start date - ASAP
Contract or position end date (if applicable) - N/A
Full time/part-time - Opportunities for both

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
Experience of working wirh learners with SEN
Skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- Desirable
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)Before You Apply
