An inclusive, forward-thinking secondary school in Taunton is seeking a qualified and experienced SENCO to lead its SEND provision from September. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to shape and strengthen a department at a school that has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, with particular praise for its pastoral care, student support systems, and inclusive ethos. The leadership team is deeply committed to ensuring all students—regardless of background or need—have access to a high-quality, personalised education.
The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for students with additional needs and bring both strategic insight and empathy to the role. You will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, and external professionals to ensure the highest standards of support are maintained and that inclusive practice is embedded across the curriculum.

Lead the development and implementation of the school’s SEND strategy across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, managing EHCPs, provision mapping, and staff training to ensure every learner is supported to achieve their potential.

Oversee a committed team of LSAs and SEND specialists, driving consistent, high-quality classroom support and promoting effective differentiation across all subjects.
