Job Description

SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) Location: Southwark, London Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (depending on experience) Mixed Mainstream Secondary Academy Inspire, Support, Achieve – Join Our Inclusive Community We are seeking to appoint a passionate, experienced, and dedicated SENCO to join our vibrant and inclusive school community in the London Borough of Southwark, starting September 2025. As our SENCO, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, leading the provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across the school. You will play a vital role in promoting an inclusive learning environment where every pupil is supported to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and manage SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice * Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, parents/carers, and external agencies * Coordinate and implement EHCP processes and ensure compliance with statutory requirements * Monitor the progress and outcomes of pupils with SEND and adapt support accordingly * Provide support, guidance, and professional development to staff on inclusive practice * Ensure robust and effective interventions are in place and evaluated regularly We Are Looking For: * A qualified teacher with substantial classroom experience * National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete it within the required timeframe) * Proven experience of working with pupils with a range of special educational needs * Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills * A commitment to inclusive education and closing the achievement gap
