Job Advert: SEND Dispute and Resolution Lead Location: East London Contract Type: Temporary Are you passionate about making a difference for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Our client is seeking a dedicated SEND Dispute and Resolution Lead to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting parent carers and ensuring that their voices are heard within the statutory framework. What You'll Do: Represent the Local Authority: Act as the single point of contact for parent carers and their representatives during Mediation and First Tier Special Educational Needs and Disability (SENDIST) processes. Collaborate & Communicate: Work directly with parent carers, schools, legal representatives, and other professionals to facilitate open and effective communication while adhering to the statutory and legal framework. Train & Coach: Provide coaching and training to the EHC Team and other professionals to ensure a consistent approach and promote best practises in disagreement resolution and SENDIST appeals. Lead on Complex Cases: Brief the EHC Operational Manager on any statutory or legal issues related to complex mediations and dispute resolutions. Manage SENDIST Appeals: Take the lead on case management, including drafting responses to grounds of appeal and ensuring all judicial deadlines are met.What We're Looking For: Strong understanding of SEND legislation and mediation processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with various stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively and foster a supportive environment for parent carers. Experience in drafting legal documents and managing complex cases effectively. A proactive and solution-focused mindset.
