Hours: Monday to Friday, 830pm - 330pm
Dates: 03/11/2025 - until further notice / possible permanent contract
Location: North Somerset
Pay: £73.77 - £135.50 per day
This Learning Support Assistant opportunity is to work at a secondary school based in North Somerset. You will be working a student with challenging behaviour, the student has a diagnosis of ADHD and ASD with a demandant- avoidant profile. You will be attending all lesson with the student, oversee social interactions, opportunities for Occupational Therapy (sensory) activities as well as building a relationship with them and carrying out wellbeing activities.
You'll be working within the Student Welfare Team in the schools 'Hub centre' which supports children that have additional learning needs with the schools' SEND team supporting learners with additional learning needs. From previous staff feedback, this is a great team and place to work at both for the colleagues that you'll be working with and the setting and resources you have at your disposal. The ideal person with have an enthusiastic nature and good collaborative team-working skills from previous school-based support work with children.
The typical qualifications & skills we're looking for in someone include:
literacy & numeracy (English & Maths) GCSE grade A* - C
Good ICT skills
Resilience & reliability
good communication skills
Good rapport (staff & students)
