Simply Education is currently seeking a resilient and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school. This full-time position is ideal for someone passionate about making a real impact on the lives of young people with additional needs.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH and additional learning needs
Assist in managing challenging behaviour with a positive, therapeutic approach
Work alongside the class teacher to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
Help students develop social skills, emotional regulation, and independence
Support the implementation of individual learning and behaviour plans🔹 What We are Looking For:
Some experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH needs
High levels of resilience, patience, and empathy
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Full-time availability (Monday-Friday, term time)
A genuine passion for helping children succeed despite challenges🔹 Requirements:
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Simply Education)
Right to work in the UK

About the Role:
As an LSA working with SEMH pupils, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. You'll work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to provide individualised support, help manage behaviour, and promote positive emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
Implement strategies and interventions to help pupils self-regulate and engage in learning
Build trusting relationships and act as a positive role model
Support the delivery of tailored learning plans under the guidance of the class teacher
Assist in creating a safe, calm, and structured learning environmentWhat We're Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or similar needs (desirable but not essential)
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
A genuine passion for inclusion and helping young people overcome barriers to learning
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are an advantageWe Offer:
