Job Title: SEND Learning Support Manager Salary: £48,000 per year Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Location: Bath and North East Somerset (multi-site, with flexible/home working options) Reporting to: Head of Alternative Education Responsible for: Team Leaders

We're seeking a dynamic and experienced SEND Learning Support Manager to oversee the day-to-day delivery of our Alternative Provision and SEND education programmes. This leadership role is central to ensuring high-quality support for learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), many of whom are unable to access mainstream education.
You'll work closely with the Head of Alternative Education and Curriculum Manager to shape inclusive pathways, manage a dedicated support team, and drive measurable outcomes for vulnerable learners. As Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), you'll also play a key role in safeguarding and wellbeing across our education services.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead operational management of SEND and Alternative Provision programmes
Line manage and support SEND education staff
Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
Oversee EHCP planning, delivery, and reviews
Ensure learner progress aligns with Preparation for Adulthood goals
Maintain robust SEND systems and compliance
Champion student voice and personal development
Represent the organisation at multi-agency meetings and EHCP reviews
Build strong relationships with families, local authorities, and external partners
What We're Looking For:
A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in education, SEND, youth work, or related field
Proven experience in managing SEND or alternative education programmes
Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes
Experience working with vulnerable learners and multi-agency teams
Excellent communication, leadership, and safeguarding skills
Desirable:
SENCO or Deputy SENCO experience
Familiarity with Ofsted's EIF (post-16)
Knowledge of regional education/employment pathways for SEND learners
Working Environment: This role is based across various sites in Bath and North East Somerset, with flexibility for home working and delivery in schools, community settings, or-where appropriate-young people's homes.
Safeguarding Commitment: We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. A satisfactory DBS certificate is required for this role, alongside ongoing safeguarding training and supervision.
