SEND & SEMH Education Roles – Teachers & Support Staff | East Sussex SEND and SEMH schools across East Sussex are currently looking to connect with educators who are interested in working within specialist settings supporting pupils with additional needs. These roles involve working with children and young people who may require extra support with behaviour, emotional regulation or learning. Schools are looking for staff who can bring consistency, patience and a calm, structured approach to the classroom. We are currently recruiting both qualified teachers and classroom support staff (Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants) across a range of SEND and SEMH settings. The Roles Opportunities may include: SEND and SEMH teaching roles (primary and secondary) Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Assistant positions Classroom and intervention support roles 1:1 pupil support Behaviour and engagement support Short-term, long-term and ongoing placements Each setting is different, and the aim is to match educators with environments where they feel confident and supported. Who This Suits These roles often suit individuals who: Have experience working with children or young people Are calm, patient and emotionally consistent Can build positive, professional relationships with pupils Are confident maintaining structure and boundaries Work well as part of a team Are interested in developing experience within SEND or SEMH education Experience within SEND or SEMH is beneficial but not essential. Many schools are open to supporting the right candidates who demonstrate the right attitude and commitment.
