Job Description
Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant One-to-One Support (Reception)
Location: Saltley, Birmingham
Position Type: Full-Time | Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Long-term (with potential to become permanent)
Pay: Negotiable, dependent on experience
Hours: 8:30 AM 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Prospero Teaching is working with a welcoming primary school in Saltley seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child with complex needs in a mainstream Reception classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored one-to-one support for a child with SEND, including ASD, non-verbal communication needs, and potential personal care
Use visual aids and widgets to support learning and communication
Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly in Early Years or KS1
Strong understanding of communication strategies for non-verbal pupils
A caring, patient, and adaptable approach
A genuine commitment to helping every child achieve their potentialRequirements to Work with Prospero Teaching:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold a valid, enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
Provide two child-related professional references covering the last two yearsApply:
